Worked in coloured wool and silk on a linen canvas ground, with Queen Anne and a male figure representing either Prince George of Denmark or John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough standing to each side of a stem with a rose and a thistle among the flowerheads, on hillocks set with trees and flowers, a yeoman warder behind and exotic birds and a butterfly above, beneath a stylised sun.
