A pair of 19th century appliqué quilts

Each made to the same pattern using joined panels and appliquéd cut pieces of printed and plain cotton.

The twin sisters were born in Burton, two miles south of Bamburgh in north Northumberland, to Thomas and Isabella Curry. Jane Ann lived at Rosecombe Cottage, Alnwick Moor, while her sister married and became Mary Elizabeth Davidson.
