An 18th century needlework panel
Circa 1730-1750, probably English
Worked in tent stitch in wool with a spray of flowers against an umber ground, in a lobed cartouche framed by scrolling leaves on a yellow ground.
The needlework 44.5cm (17½”) high and 36.2cm (14¼”) wide.
Edged with a narrow looped metal braid and mounted on black velvet over a panel 50.8cm (20”) high and 42.4cm (16⅝”) wide.
