A fine French needlework panel

Circa 1740-1760

With an elegant fishmonger serving a well-dressed gentleman at her stall among flowers and fruit trees, the central cartouche within a border of leaves and pomegranates, worked in silk and wool and the faces in petit point.

The needlework 53.5cm (21”) high and 49.5cm (19½”) wide.

In a black painted parcel-gilt frame 57.5cm (22⅝”) high and 53.7cm (21⅛”) wide.
